WARRANTY CONDITIONS

If a mechanical breakdown occurs Foley Trucks will contract with the repairer for the repair of the vehicle. Foley Trucks reserves the right to carry out the repairs. The repair will include the reasonable cost to bring the vehicle up to the standard it was at the time of the warranty start date. Foley Trucks reserves the right to source parts and supply the parts for the repair of the vehicle.

EXCESS

The excess amount applied to all unrelated claims during the warranty period. Unrelated claims are where one component has not directly affected or caused the failure of another and will therefore be treated as unrelated claims. The Excess amount for all Foley Trucks 1 Year Mechanical Warranties is set at $500. The excess amount in dollars is inclusive of GST.

EXCLUSIONS

The warranty shall not apply when:

Where the vehicle is not serviced or maintained in accordance with the vehicle service programme and schedule. Or where the vehicle has been previously repaired before the warranty claims procedure has been effected.

To repairs covered by any other form of Insurance, Guarantee or Warranty.

To any claims that are fraudulent.

If the vehicle is subject to a manufacturers recall or to the rectifying of any failure or defect in the specification or design of any component.

To any claim arising from damage by a non-covered component whether incidental and/or consequential.

Any costs associated with rectifying faulty repairs or workmanship.

When a vehicle has been modified from the original manufacturers specification and has contributed to the vehicles breakdown.

To any injector due to contamination, wear and tear, corrosion or normal deterioration.

For any cost associated with tuning, servicing and maintenance of any components.

For costs associated with the contamination of oil, water, air system, fluid, fuel, lubricant including corrosion problems, deterioration and rust.

To any claim arising from the prolonged use of a vehicle once a fault has occurred including the loss of fluids.

For any claim associated with loss of time, inconvenience, conversion, theft, accidental damage, fire, storage charges, loss of use or any other loss.

To any cost associated with the replacement of serviceable items including: communications system, satellite navigation, visual system, audio system, seat belts, upholstery, interior and exterior trim, hinges, handles, struts, paintwork, bodywork, tyres and wheels, wheel alignment and balancing, shock absorbers, suspension rubber components (Bushings and mountings), glass, lights, cosmetic items, exhaust system (including DPF and DPD systems), batteries, brakes and brake components, clutch replacement, splitter gearboxes.

To the costs associated with auxiliary, additional or ancillary equipment or any associated system including but not limited to: compactor unit, crane, PTO, tipper, truck body, hoisting units, refrigeration units, tail lift units etc.

QUALIFYING VEHICLES

This warranty policy shall cover the vehicle as stated in the front of this booklet in reference to the registration number and policy number.

Limits of Liability:

At the time of sale vehicles with up to the following odometer readings:
100,000 kms – up to $6000 per single claim
150,000 kms – up to $5000 per single claim
225,000 kms – up to $4000 per single claim

The excess for all Foley Trucks warranty policies is set at $500.

The exceptions for insurance within this policy are listed below:

Any vehicle used in competitions, racing, rallies and any other motorsport.

Vehicle with more than 2 axles.

Any vehicle with a splitter gearbox (multi ratio)

Any vehicle with an odometer over 225,000 kms or over 12 years of age at the time of sale.

Taxis, rentals and any other fare paying passenger vehicles.

VEHICLE SERVICE PROGRAMME AND SCHEDULE

The first service for any vehicle will be and must be completed at the time of sale.
It is the insured person(s) or insured companies responsibility to abide by the outlines set in the vehicle service programme and to follow the service minimum requirements.
Failure to follow the outlines will result in a warranty claim being declined.

Vehicle must be serviced every 6 months or 10,000 kms, whichever occurs first.

Minimum Service Requirements Outline:

1. Change the engine oil and filter
2. Replace the fuel filter every 20,000 kms
3. Check transmission oil and filter and service if necessary
4. Check the air filter and cleaning system and replace if required
5. Check turbo feed pipes for blockages and leaks
6. Top up all fluids where required
7. Check brakes and components for defects
8. Check camshaft and drive belts and replace if necessary
9. Check the clutch for wear and tear and any slippage
10. Check the suspension system
11. Check the steering system
12. Tune the engine if required

All services must be recorded on the last page of the warranty booklet.

MAKING A CLAIM

If the vehicle is unable to be transported by the driver, contact the repairer for assistance. All repairs must be carried out by an authorised repairer or the result may be your claim being rejected.

Repairers Responsibility: Contact Foley Trucks on (09) 589-1400 before you carry out any work on the damaged vehicle. Foley Trucks will pay for the labour cost and parts cost up to the amount stated in the 'Limits of Liability' section in this warranty booklet.

Work by an Unauthorised Person/Company Any repair carried out without authorisation or an order number from Foley Trucks will result in your claim being denied. Any repair by an unauthorised person will become the sole responsibility of the repairer. And will result in a claim being denied
